Hello,
My name is Andrew Martin and it my pleasure to introduce my beautiful family to you: my wife’s name is Kena and our twin girls are Kaitlee Grace & Evelyn Hope. We are blessed by the Lord to be in service to the Kingdom; furthermore, we are blessed to have an opportunity to serve Panfork Baptist Encampment. When God called me into ministry, He called my wife as well – I’m glad, because she makes me better. We’re excited about how we can team-up to serve Panfork and ultimately to serve the 74 churches that make Panfork what it is.
I graduated this last May from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Pastoral Ministry and a minor in Church Recreation. I believe that God began a work in us in July of 2010 that would prepare us for the task that is Panfork. Prior to Panfork, I served two churches collectively for nearly 5 years as Youth Pastor and prior to that I worked for two banks collectively for 6 years.
My lovely wife, Kena, has two bachelor’s degrees to my one – both from Oklahoma Baptist University. The first was Recreation Administration/Sports Ministry with a minor in Business and her second was Elementary Education. She has worked both in the business arena (doing accounts receivable and payable) and in the educational field. I am proud of the Godly woman that she is!
Our girls are nearly 10 months old, they were just a minute a part at birth, and they are awesome! People often ask how do you do it? Our response is always the same, they’re our only children and so we don’t know the difference because we’ve always only had two at once.
Our dream for Panfork is simple and yet it is a huge task! We want desperately to impact our world for Christ, even if we do it just one soul at a time! We believe that it is imperative to the Kingdom to offer a real invitation each night of each camp. We want to see our speakers call our students to follow Christ with their hearts, to commit their lives to ministry or missions, and to live their lives as a testimony that Jesus is ALIVE! We want to offer quality camps that compete with ‘big boys’, but we cannot live and die on our effort to compete. At the heart of our efforts instead must be ministry, because good Godly ministry will yield more attendees, which will in turn yield more money, which will allow us to do more ministry! We are passionate people who are graciously enabled to serve a passionate God!
As we have prayed about what God would call us to do, He distinctly called us to three things: He called me to proclaim His Word to any and all that would hear, He called us to minister to the entire age spectrum of the church (the very youngest to the very oldest), and He called us to minister to more than one church body. As we prayed, we can see no other ministry except that of Panfork that matches better what God has called us to be about. We’re so excited about the ministry that is Panfork and we are excited to serve the 74 churches to the best of our ability – after all Panfork is our camp.
